Aspiring HR professional Christine Chin receives $2,800 award
Alcott HR commemorated its 28th anniversary by awarding a $2,800 scholarship to Christine Chin, a student at Adelphi University in Garden City, New York. The award was presented by Louis Basso, Alcott HR President and co-founder, and a graduate of Adelphi.
Alcott HR awards a scholarship annually to an Adelphi student with strong academic performance who plans to enter the field of human resources. Christine is a business management major from Brooklyn, New York and proved to be an outstanding candidate.
She currently has a 3.87 GPA, as well as Dean’s List honors which she has maintained through all six semesters she has attended Adelphi. She is a strong contributor to campus life, serving as Vice President of Chapter Operations for the professional business fraternity Delta Sigma PI and as Vice President and Marketing Officer of Circle K, an international community service organization.
Christine is an active volunteer and has performed community service on behalf of many nonprofit organizations including: UNICEF, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, the Ronald McDonald House and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. She also serves as a tutor at the university’s writing center, where she helps students from various backgrounds improve their writing skills. In addition, she attained the position of EXCEL Mentor for helping freshmen transition to college life, and she has successfully completed the Leadership Certificate Program.
